Position Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced AVL (Audio, Video, Lighting) Technician to join our Houston-based team. This role requires hands-on experience with live event setups and a strong technical background in AVL operations. As an AVL Technician at Space City Pro, you’ll be an essential part of our team, responsible for ensuring that every technical detail is handled with professionalism and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Setup, operate, and dismantle audio, video, and lighting equipment for events, including LED walls, PA systems, video systems, and lighting rigs.
- Conduct pre-event equipment checks, troubleshooting technical issues to ensure flawless execution.
- Collaborate with production teams to align with client requirements and deliver high-quality event experiences.
- Maintain and manage AVL inventory, performing regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Support event rehearsals, monitoring equipment functionality and making adjustments in real time.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and technical standards throughout each event.
- Document setup and equipment configurations for repeatable success and streamlined troubleshooting.
Must Have
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in live event production, specifically in AVL roles.
- Strong technical skills in audio setup, video production, LED wall operation, and lighting control systems.
- Proficiency with industry standard systems and equipment.
- Knowledge of signal flow, rigging practices, power distribution, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and stand for extended periods.
Nice to have
- Certifications in AV technology, such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or ETCP, are highly desirable.
- Experience with camera operation, live streaming, and LED wall mapping.
- Familiarity with industry standards, including OSHA, ESA, and ANSI safety regulations.
